(UNITED NATIONS) – Bünyamin Sürmeli – United Nations (UN) Secretary-General António Guterres said ahead of the Future Summit on September 22-23 that the summit presents a great opportunity for the global implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Emphasizing that the summit aims to take important steps in support of sustainable development goals around the world, Guterres said that critical support, especially for developing countries, will be on the agenda at this meeting.
SDG Financing and Support Commitments
Mr. Guterres stated that financing is crucial for the success of the SDGs and that new sources of financing for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) should be established at the Future Summit. In this context, he emphasized that the commitment to an SDG Incentive Plan to support developing countries will also be on the summit agenda.
Guterres said that the summit should not fail, noting that the SDGs play a key role in achieving a sustainable future and that global cooperation is essential in achieving these goals.
SDGs and Global Crises

Guterres emphasized that global crises are interconnected and that international cooperation to address them is vital to the success of the SDG goals.
The Main Goal of the Summit: A Sustainable Future
The Future Summit aims to boost reforms and cooperation at the global level to implement the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. In this context, member states attending the summit are expected to make financial commitments to the SDGs and take the necessary steps for sustainable development.
