Climate protest in New York City

NEW YORK – Bünyamin Sürmeli – The youth organization FFFNYC organized a protest with thousands of young climate activists in Manhattan, New York. The protesters called on President Biden to declare a climate emergency and end the fossil fuel era.

Climate activists began their protest in Manhattan, marching across the Brooklyn Bridge. New Yorkers also supported the climate activists during the march.

Speaking on behalf of FFFNYC, the youth said, “Our streets are flooding, our skies are turning orange, our future is disappearing. But President Biden is telling young people that he takes climate change seriously, while allowing the fossil fuel industry to run wild and build new oil wells and pipelines. This is not good for the health of the world of the future. We demand that Biden declare a climate emergency.
