Large Participation in Palestine Protests at City College in New York

NEW YORK – Bünyamin Sürmeli – On the second day of the demonstrations in support of Palestine at City College University in New York, the events continued with the participation of large crowds.

As labor groups and civic activists joined the protests, a strong network of support emerged. In particular, the Gaza Solidarity Camp, formed by students at the City College of New York, has become a symbolic hub on college campuses.

The growing and diversifying nature of the protests suggests that the pro-Palestinian movement that began on campuses across the US has the potential to grow into a broader social movement.

However, the protests at City College of New York have also highlighted the difficulties faced by demonstrators, as the protests at City College of New York have been subject to provocative attempts and some people have been arrested.

Along with similar protests at Columbia University, university students and supporters continue their struggle to make their demands heard and show their solidarity with Palestine.

The protests have been strengthened by support from politicians and various sectors of society. However, in response, administrators are increasing pressure on demonstrators to end the protests.
